Below, courtesy of Mr. Lambo, is a brief summary of the past couple of weeks. The pink “Editor’s Notes” are my comments.

The past 5 weeks have been interesting. Despite our obvious differences, we continue to spend time together and seemingly grow closer. We’ve had our ups and downs just like everyone else, but we get by them and continue to move forward.

Here is what you have missed. Since NYE weekend, I’ve only seen Princess a handful of times. I drove to NJ one evening to pick her up from her friend’s house and spend a night out. I arrived at her friend’s house later than expected. I was already in a bad mood and the last thing I wanted was to meet new people that were going to bombard me with questions. I admit, I was a jerk at first. I didn’t want to get out of the car; therefore, they all migrated to me. [Editor’s Note: I was thoroughly annoyed at his refusal to get out of the car and greet my friends. Ultimately, I went back to my friends and told them to approach his vehicle. Lambo later told me that he wasn’t really in a bad mood, but just put on the front because he wanted to display some resistance to me. Not cool.] I felt bad for my rude behavior so I got out and talked for 20 minutes or so. We left the area and decided to just hangout and catch up on things. Eventually we went to eat. It was going well until once again I made a comment that caused both of us to go speechless. Our previous embracing turned into another “no touch” session. I dropped Princess off at her car and headed home. We didn’t talk for hours and later that evening I received a long message from MoMo. [Editor’s Note: My message was not long. I will post the exact content in my version of these facts.] I didn’t like what I read so I called her to discuss things. We made peace and moved on.

We kept in touch via phone and text. She had plans and went out of town one weekend. I had a business trip planned for Maryland on MLK Day. She so happened to be on the same highway as me at the same time. Since we were in such close proximity, we decided to meet at a rest stop and chat for a few. I decided to have a (nasty) slice of pizza, Princess passed. She was still recovering from her weekend in DC. After 30-40 minutes at the rest stop, we departed our separate ways. Again we spoke on the phone and sent texts.

It seems natural now to speak to Princess 2-3 times a day. I get phone calls every morning on her way to work and most evenings on her way home. We also talk most nights before she goes to bed. I like thinking that I’m the first person she talks to in the morning and the last before she closes her eyes. Sometimes things just feel right :)

  1. Without an effort to start a war, I believe the appropriate statement is TO and not TOO for this: Ultimately, I went back to my friends and told them too approach his vehicle.

  2. No problem. Even the best make mistakes occasionally.
