Flashing Light in the MoMo-mobile

Posted by Princess MoMo on Nov 10 in Adventures of Princess MoMo

Every so often, an indicator light that I’ve never seen before will flash up on the MoMo-mobile dashboard.   More often than not, this annoys me because the lights are usually telling of a problem.   Today, one of those indicators presented itself.  I happened to be chatting with a male on my device.   I described the light to him as follows, “It’s a green light composed of two parts.  The first part is a semi-circle.  Let’s say you had a circle and you cut it in half and then disposed of the left half…that’s the first  part.  Then to the left of the semi-circle, where the disposed half would have been, there’s a vertical line with three horizontal lines going through it.  It looks like a football seam.”

He asked, “Are the horizontal lines more diagonal?”

I said, “It seems that way.”

He asked, “Are they going up toward the semi-circle?”

I said, “Yes.”

He asked, “Is the vertical line kind of squiggly?”

I answered, “I don’t know. I can’t really see it that well while driving.”

He responded, “I think that’s the fog light indicator.”

I asked, “What the fuck does that mean? Some light is out?”

He said it may mean the light is out or on. I asked how I could turn on such a thing. I proceeded to stop a gas station (because I needed to fill the tank, not to inspect the light situation).  While the gas was being pumped (not by me because I live in New Jersey, bitch, where we don’t pump our own gas – yeah, you’re jealous – admit it!), I stepped out of the MoMo-mobile to take a look at the front lights.   They were all illuminated.  Then, I resorted to something I really prefer to avoid: the car user manual.  This was the first time I’ve opened the book.  Previously, I’ve had passengers refer to it for me.  But, I was passenger-less. I arrived at a page that informed me that the semi-circle, football seam indicator is indeed related to the fog lights.  Apparently, I had somehow managed to activate these fog lights that I never even knew existed.  I was tasked with figuring out how I turned them on and how to switch them off.  I found the page in the manual that addressed my concern.  The user manual actually isn’t so bad.  There are a lot of pictures, so reading isn’t really essential.  Anyway, I saw the picture for the button to turn off these damn fog lights.  I realized that I must have hit the button with my knee.  Ultimately, I was pleased that today’s indicator light was not indicative of a problem and now, next time there’s fog, I’ll know what to do!
