Online Dating Fails: Family-Tie-Breaking-Grammar

Posted by Princess MoMo on Apr 19 in Epic fails, Men, Online dating

Guy: Me, LLC, believes Me, Inc. is an established and successful organization driven by creativity and passion. The CEO may be sarcastic, but definitely intelligent and playful and deserving of the same. A successful business partnership is no doubt in teh near future for Me Inc. Seriously, great profile…all of it. And when did English become a second, even dare I say, third language in the US? I refuse to speak with my own sister on the same principles of spoken and written grammer and spelling. Somehow it seems the more we evolve as a society, the more we demonstate we haven’t surpassed our neanderthal ancestors. I’ve read some unusual profiles, met some certifiable women, but the humorous, yet accurate descriptions portrayed in yours restores my faith in the existence of intelligent and genuine women. Thanks. I’m sure romantic success is not far from your reach.

Princess: Chris-

While your message is mostly pleasant, I found disturbing that you haven’t spoken to your “own sister on the same principles of spoken and written grammer and spelling.” Now, it’s not so much the fact that you haven’t spoken to your sister that’s alarming. The problem is that you spelled grammar incorrectly. I’m not a spelling nazi, but your error is ironic given your self-proclaimed, family-tie-breaking spelling aversion. See where I’m going with this?

Guy:
You’re absolutely correct and my spologies for the oversight in my spelling. I’m generally a very throgough proofreader, but we all make mistakes. And in truth, everyone in my family has spoken with my sister on her habits. We can’t change who people are and how they want to behave. Mistakes are allowable, intended and flagrant ignorance of minimal spelling and grammar is just laziness.

Analysis: Is he serious? “throgough proofreader” – Yes, very throgough indeed. I’m throgoughly turned off.
