Introduction: Being the kind and considerate blogger that I am, I provide my specimens the opportunity to share their own renditions of our dates.  Below is Mr. Rx’s summary of date one.  Beware, it is laden with sarcasm.  For an accurate detailing of our date, read my version.  In the meantime, because it is my website, I have taken the liberty of including “editor’s notes” highlighted in pink below.

After much anticipation, it was finally date night. The plan was to pick her up from work and then drive to downtown Princeton for dinner. Although I had the GPS on my phone to guide me, nothing could have prepared me for having to navigate through her labyrinth of an industrial park.  [MoMo’s Note: He had the day off from work that day.  Therefore, he should have left early enough to allow for mis-navigation or user/driver error as I like to believe it was.  He had been urged to be on time by me and by the coworker who set us up, but that did not seem to motivate timely arrival.]  After driving around in circles trying to find my date, I picked up a very attractive young woman who happened to be standing on the corner. She was tall and slender with tan skin and black hair; very much my type, aside from the tall part. Seeing as how she was so nicely dressed and eager to get in my car we decided to go to dinner.

Now that I was finally on my way to the restaurant, I was a lot less stressed. Just when I thought the rest of the evening was going to go smoothly, the restaurant apparently never entered my reservation. Thankfully however, they were able to accommodate us even though the restaurant was quite busy.  [MoMo’s Note: “Quite busy” is an example of his sarcasm.  There was one other occupied table in there when we arrived.]  Finally seated at our table, we decided to have our wine poured so that we could relax and enjoy each other’s company. She not only complimented me on my wine selection, but also commended me on having braved the industrial park and battling for our table.  I nodded modestly and the night continued on.   [MoMo’s Note: I did compliment him on the wine selection.  I asked who was responsible for this choice because it was hard to believe that he was to credit for it.  As for commending him on his navigational bravery or table triumph, that did not happen.  I expressed my displeasure in his lateness and my annoyance with the hostess for acting like we were uninvited disciples  trying to crash the Last Supper.]  When dinner finally arrived, it was well worth the wait. The food was rich, flavorful and plated beautifully.

With good food and wine to fuel our conversation, we exchanged stories about past relationships, spoke of our likes and dislikes, and even enjoyed poking fun at the staff who were a bit overly friendly. We finished eating and then stayed a bit longer to finish the wine and continue talking. On our walk home we decided to take a seat on a bench to enjoy the beautiful night air and continue talking and laughing. After serenading her with my Arabic over dinner and afterwards on our way home, I figured I should take her home since we both had work early.  [MoMo’s Note: I was impressed with his limited, but unexpected knowledge of a few Arabic words.]

On the drive home I noticed she appeared sad because the night was coming to an end. I reassured her that I would see her again and not to be upset, to which she smiled and perked up a bit.  [MoMo’s Note: Mr. Rx seems to have mistaken my date write up request for a fictional narrative.]  The time came to drop her off at which point she confessed to me that she was very turned on by my Arabic and how I was totally not short. I told her that I’d like to take things slow, so instead we stuck to a high five.  [MoMo’s Note: See previous note.]

Each of us now on our way home, she called me to get my thoughts on the date. I explained that I had a very good time. There was good conversation, a very nice meal, and of course I thought she looked very nice. She stated that she also had a good time, emphasizing that I was “really cute,” and once again “totally not short.” All things considered it was a nice date and I very much looked forward to another.
